Discover Who We Are
Climbing Mount Kenya is an experience of a lifetime, highly recommended to the adventurous traveler willing to forgo some of life's usual luxuries for a few days. The beautiful, snow-capped peak of Mount Kenya is the second highest point in Africa at 5199m. It is a challenging and popular destination for trekkers and climbers. The main summit is called Batian and the second summit Nelion (5188m), both of which are technical climbs; but a third peak, Lenana, at 4985m is more accessible and a very feasible goal for all reasonably fit people.
Whether your interest is in climbing the technical peaks or trekking to Point Lenana, the Mount Kenya trek represents a lovely and special challenge for the adventurer and hiker. It is a perennial favorite, entirely feasible for the hill walker looking to combine a high mountain adventure with coming to East Africa.
At MountKenyahike, we offer tailor made private treks on both Mount Kenya and Mount Kilimanjaro for both individuals, and small or large groups. Discover What We Do

Mount Kenya is a broad, largely symmetrical volcanic cone with a diameter of about 120km. It was formed between 2.6 and 3.1 million years ago and it is possible that the original volcano was over 7,000m in height and more than 2,000m higher than it is today. Of the main peaks on the mountain, Batian at 5,199m and Nelion at 5,188m are only accessible to technical mountaineers, whilst Lenana, 4,985m, is accessible to trekkers.
While the 5199 meter summit is a difficult technical climb, the lesser peak of Point Lenana (4985m) can be easily reached by any fit trekker. This trek takes between 3 and 5 days, through a fascinating world of forests, wildlife, and unique montage vegetation including podo carpus and groundsel, and finally one of the world’s rarest sights, equatorial snow.
For those who don’t want to climb the Mountain the cool highlands that surround its base are well worth a visit. The forests are ideal for game viewing, and there are crystal clear mountain streams that abound with Trout.
We offer Mount Kenya Hike along the three main routes:
1. Sirimon - 3 Options 2. Narumoru - 3 Options 3. Chogoria - 3 Options

At 5896m Mt Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain and one of the continent's magnificent sights, It has three main volcanic peaks, Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira.
Hiking on the ‘rooftop of Africa’ — the highest point on the continent at 5896 metres — is the adventure of a lifetime, especially because, if paced well, everyone from seasoned trekkers to first-time enthusiasts can scale the snowy peak.
Kilimanjaro is located near the town of Moshi and is a protected area, carefully regulated for climbers to enjoy without leaving a trace of their presence. The mountain’s ecosystems are as strikingly beautiful as they are varied and diverse. The mountain can be climbed all year round though there are a couple of rainy seasons.
The Machame Route - This is the most popular route, approaches from south, very scenic route with southern traverse, difficult route but very good for acclimatization, camping. Travels through five distinct ecosystem in 7 days. This is the classic climb of Kilimanjaro.
The Marangu Route - A 6-7 Days climb. It is a popular tourist route, approaches from southeast with easy, gentle gradients, beautiful rain forest section and moorlands, comfortable but basic hut shelter, poor acclimatization profile, descent on same trail.
The Lemosho Route - A 9-day climb itinerary geared toward the very fit trekker/climber with a chance to sleep at the crater rim after summit. Long access drive to trailhead, approaches from west, remote, less frequented, beautiful heath section, very scenic with southern traverse, camping, difficult route but excellent for acclimatization and camping.

Game Drives and Safaris:
The diversity of game in Kenya is simply astounding. From the big five to the small five, Kenya’s game parks, reserves and other wildlife protection areas host some of the wildest game thus the reason why this is home for the safari. Dotted in their unique landscapes, geographical features, a vast array of game ensues. The icing on Kenya’s wildlife cake is the annual Wildebeest Migration at the famous Maasai Mara migration between mid-August and late October.
Beach Holidays
Kenya is full of surprises: just when you thought it was all about safaris and wildlife, you find out that it also has some of East Africa's greatest beaches and Indian Ocean island getaways. Picture brilliant blue water lapping against fine white sand - an invitation to stretch out and soak up the sun. When the mood takes you, pick up a snorkel or set sail on a dhow; Kenya beaches are lined with protective coral reefs creating ideal waters for swimming, sailing, water sports, and - for the more adventurous - diving and snorkeling.
We can set you up with beautiful accommodation in lodges at any of these Kenyan national treasures, or you can choose to interact better with nature by opting for a camping arrangement.
